OUR VISION

South Africa is a multi-ethnic society made up of 56 million people, encompassing a wide variety of cultures, languages, economies and religions.  South Africa is a nation of beauty, natural resources, distinct ecosystems, and diversity.  It is also a land of political frustrations, injustice, poverty, inequality, disease and self-interest.

South Africa’s educational history is as colorful as its struggle for democracy. It would be an understatement to say that obtaining an education equates to attaining freedom and a better life in South Africa. Education, in a post-apartheid era, continues to be shaped by challenging social, cultural, racial, and spiritual issues.

“Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world”

Nelson Mandela

A COUNTRY WITHOUT A CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

Currently South Africa does not have a Christian, liberal arts, degree granting institution of higher education. For the last three years a team of South African and American Christian leaders and educators have researched the possibility of building a Christian school of higher education in South Africa.  After interviewing pastors, educators, government officials, church leaders, media, missionaries and Christian parents in South Africa, the need for an institution for higher Christian education was confirmed.

Christian Worldview

Genesis South Africa will promote a Christian worldview in the context of academic rigor within a caring, faith community.

Mentoring, Prayer, Worship

Professors will mentor, counsel, and pray with students. Chapel services will be held where faculty and students can worship together.

Biblical Integration

Business students will not only learn about economics and marketing, but what the Bible says about money and integrity.

Preparing Christian Teachers

Education students will learn the philosophy, psychology, and practice of education from a biblical and moral perspective.

Spiritual Growth

Students will grow in their knowledge of educational principles, but also grow in their faith and spiritual maturity.

A Lifetime of Service

Future graduates will not merely study to prepare for a living. Genesis students will be shaped to live lives as disciples of Jesus Christ, and His kingdom.
